POSITION VACANT:
Do you like to travel? Do you enjoy meeting people of all age groups? Do you think you can bring together diverse talents to make a successful unit? If so you are probably already captaining a hockey team and need look no further. The 4th team is a mix of seen-it-all old stagers who won’t listen to you and young lads on the way up who won’t listen to you. The captain needs to be able to take unlimited abuse from the first group and give lifts to and provide kit for the second group. All for no thanks or recognition. An ability to play out of position every week to accommodate the rest of the team is essential.
Last season’s 4th team was a bit (only a bit) like that. But when the first-choice squad could be assembled, some good hockey was played and a fun time was had by all. Many thanks to Tim Killick for his work as captain last year and best wishes to whoever takes the job on this year (especially if you are going to do it again Tim!).
